White or black cast aluminium lacquered base. Made in Italy. We have a large range of size options for this table so if you are looking for a particular size that you don't see below please contact us. * Please note that these tables require self-assembly and will be delivered as two items, table top and base. Marble and large laminate tops are crated in wood to minimise the chance of damage in transit.

| With the observation that "the underside of typical chairs and tables makes a confusing unrestful world", Eero Saarinen set out to distil modern dining designs into sculptural, holistic structures. The result was his award-winning pedestal collection, which included the Tulip table, the collection is known for the designs' exquisite cast aluminium bases. |
About Eero Saarinen

Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) was the son of architect Eiliel Saarinen, Director of Cranbrook Academy of Arts. He was a student of fine arts in Paris and then architecture at Yale before working with Norman Bel Geddes to design furniture and practicing architecture with his father in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He met Charles Eames at Cranbrook and collaborated with Eames on several projects, including a plywood leg splint for the U.S. Army. He opened his own practice in Ann Arbor in 1950. Great buildings for which he is known are Dulles Airport in Washington D.C. and the TWA Terminal at Kennedy International Airport in New York. He has received several awards and has been the subject of many exhibitions. |
