Full Description

In 1929 Le Corbusier and his team of designers presented a revolutionary collection of furniture at the Salon d'Autumne that amazed the city. Among the pieces was the ethereal yet bold LC6 Table a mathematically refined structure of steel and glass that has become one of the most important international contemporary style tables of the 20th century.

About Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier (1887-1975) was born in Switzerland and was an architect theorist and designer. He worked and wrote with a unique vision, energy and clarity that made him one of the most influential figures shaping the international style during the early 1900's. Born Charles Edouard Jeanneret, he rechristened himself Le Corbusier in Paris in 1920, around the time he started his journal L'Esprit Nouveau. He was cofounder of the Congres International d'Architecture Moderne (CIAM) and an active member of the Parisian art scene. His philosophy for minimalist modernism was built around the idea of the home as a 'machine for living'.
